Physical Education Grading
Physical Education is a regularly required school subject and is graded on the report card in the same manner as any other subject.
The grading scale is as follows:
90-100 = A
80-89.9 = B
70-79.9 = C
60-69.9 = D
59.9 and below = F

* Instructor will inform students of examples of each assessment per unit.

• Standard 1 or 2 will be graded each semester
• Standard 4 & 5 will be graded each day
• Standard 3 will be graded per unit

Developmental Level
Student exhibits understanding of responsible personal and social behavior that respects self, and other in physical activity settings by:
· * By dressing in appropriate uniform to show value of class
· * Follows rules and procedures before, during and after class
· * Is safe before, during and after class
· * On time in and out of locker room to destination of class
· * Sitting down in attendance spot
· * Dressed, shoes on and tied
· * Follows directions quickly
· * Level 0/1 voice – teacher discretion
· * Sportsmanship
· * Cooperates with peers
5 = Mastery (Above and Beyond)
4 = Consistent (Consistently - at least 4 days per week)
3 = Competent (Frequently - at least 3 days per week)
2 = Developing (Occasionally - at least 2 days per week)
1 = Non-Compliant (In attendance but only participating 1 day per week)
0 = No Evidence (Not in Attendance that week)

Student shows positive attitude and value in physical activity for health, enjoyment, challenge, and self-expression and/or social interaction by:
5 = Mastery (Above and Beyond)
4 = Consistent (Consistently - at least 4 days per week)
3 = Competent (Frequently - at least 3 days per week)
2 = Developing (Occasionally - at least 2 days per week)
1 = Non-Compliant (In attendance but only participating 1 day per week)
0 = No Evidence (Not in Attendance that week)

- Be Ready (sitting down, dressed, on time)
- Be Respectful (toward self, others, and equipment, follows directions quickly, level 1 voice, sportsmanship)
- Willingness to try each activity
- Cooperates well with peers
- Sees learning new activities and skills as challenging
- Enjoys becoming more skilled through effort and practice
- Invites all students, regardless of ability to participate in all class activities
Unit Grading
Skill & Mechanics Level / Movement Patterns (NASPE Standard 1 & 3)
- Skill test (motor & sport skills)
- Understanding and implementing fitness components
* Instructor will inform students of examples of each assessment per unit.
- Written/Verbal assessment (rules, strategies, concepts, & principles)
- Written/Verbal quizzes/tests
- Written assignments (journals, exit slip, goal setting, etc…)
